50% state owned means the public takes the hit when the largest bubble in human history explodes.

I'd rather state-regulated, with taxes proportionate to the expected impact, so that the public gets a share of any profits while the investors pay for disasters. This whole industry seems built on extractivism - take water and electricity for data centers while imposing the costs on local communities, take federal contracts for large sums, and now take the taxpayers directly for their disasters.

Ever hear โ€œinvest only what you can afford to loseโ€?

What communities can afford to lose millions or billions?

Right! Can't believe Bernie Sanders is falling for this! Maybe time to retire the old man at last.

If Rump is for it, we should be against it, everything he touches turns to ๐Ÿ’ฉ including the US.

Let's see:

1) Company bleeds billions and has no future of financial gains.

2) Purpose of company is to eliminate jobs.

3) Company data-centers cause environmental disasters for local air and water.

4) Company causes everyone's energy costs to rise.

5) Awesome businessman Trump thinks it's a great idea for government to subsidize.

What could possibly go wrong?

You nailed it! Why listen to a snake who only has its interests in mind?

Okay we've had housing bubbles burst dot.coms bite the dust, O&G down cycles that left people unemployed and homeless and who knows what else over the last 30 years in this country.

Fleecing the taxpayers for these dinosaur data centers that are useless and suck dry all of our water and electrical resources - all they do is recycle existing info plus generate all types of videos, images n crap.

A new play tool for the rich and some of the creative - used to further bankrupt American citizens.

Come on people - we're smarter than this - financial markets housing and credit unions really took a toll in 2008.

NOTE government wants to use taxpayers money to bail these assholes out if and when they fail.

How is this different from Bankman-Fried and the crypto theft? Altman is the only AI group that is asking for billions of dollars constantly.

Excellent reporting and analysis, Judd. Itโ€™s not complex: Public ownership of debt, aka, Socialism and private ownership of profit, aka, Capitalism.

This situation is so awful on so many levels. Instead of taxpayers' money going to Social Security funds and the postal service among other necessities such as food, fuel (solar and wind) and housing, homelessness and pre-K education, it (taxpayers' money) will be going towards - what!? - truly unneeded data moving quickly back and forth across the globe - this very planet we need to live on which is being heated and polluted to the worst condition ever seen in our existence so far. Why? To go to the moon? For what? exploiting it for the very minerals these data hungry people feel they need to continue ruining what's left on our still beautiful blue atmostpheric planet? Any rational person would see from a "global perspective" that it's a race to a planetary suicide. Meanwhile, the extremely wealthy can't see beyond their stock investments and thousands of bank accounts. All the while exterminating pesky humans obstructing their path to even more power - you know - the "immigrants". The majority of the people on this planet Earth trying to survive in the pursuit of just plain living, going from place to place with that hope. While the elite and wealthy work (they work so hard) in their air-conditioned bubble lives on serious things like decorating all the seashores in the world with luxury resorts for their kind of people. And the white supremacists want to have their women breed only white babies because the percentage of births is decreasing. Is it any wonder that fewer babies in certain countries are being born because their parents (yes, men too) believe that it's too difficult (livelihoods and cost of living )and even dangerous to go through pregnancy (lousy health care and stupid anti-abortion and anti-contraception laws which endanger women's ability to carry a baby to term safely)... enough. It's all related.

An insightful look at the convergence of political messaging and Silicon Valley lobbying. Framing a public wealth fund as benevolence masks a dangerous reality: it introduces massive systemic risk by tethering taxpayers to high burn, debt heavy AI infrastructure before a sustainable business model or broad economic productivity is even proven.

Ultimately, this risks socializing the astronomical costs of the AI arms race, creating a too big to fail dynamic that could severely compromise future regulatory independence. History shows us exactly how this story ends.

It is the same old pattern where the wealthy fleece the public and everyday people are left holding the bill.

I guess Trump is really a socialist.

'Today, you donโ€™t see AI in the employment data, productivity data, or inflation data."

Ha. Not in "employment data"? Why didn't OW call them out on this? Of course it's in the employment data - that's the whole point of AI. It exists only to eliminate jobs! And its doing a great job. We are looking at Trumps AI based permanent employment of 50-70%. What a great biz opportunity for you Mr Trump. Thank you MAGA fools. Do I have to vote Democrat to save our kids future??

Their big ideas need everybody to be their financial backer. How's that for planning?

Sam Altman needs to pull himself up by his own bootstraps. Jeez. What a welfare queen this Sam Altman is.

Figure it out, Sam. Just like we have to figure out how to buy groceries and gas at inflated prices.

Give the tariff money back to taxpayers, not Corpations;;

The Trump Cabinet is a dog-eat-dog group of do nothing asskisser of D.J.Trump

I urge you to pass the Tariff Refunds for Working Families Act. When the Supreme Court struck down Donald Trumpโ€™s tariffs, it didn't specify how the roughly $166 billion that was collected should be handled. So the administration created a refund process, but only for corporations โ€” not the American people who actually paid the price at the checkout counter. In just one year, the average American family is estimated to have spent at least $1,700 more on goods because of these tariffs. Meanwhile, companies like Nike, Target, and Walmart are set to recoup billions, despite having already passed the increased costs on to consumers. Vote YES on the Tariff Refunds for Working Families Act and guarantee American workers arenโ€™t left out when the $166 billion in overcharges is refunded. We want our tariff money back to the citizens.

There is nothing to be gained by taxpayers for this, and $billions to be gained by the money burning AI companies and their owners.

It is nothing more than an attempt to prop up the AI bubble and the IPO's of the AI companies.

We should not allow this to happen. It will be a massive rip off.
