I am a Unix programmer. I am not an accountant, nor do I play one on TV. Please keep in mind that I do not know what I'm talking about so any advice you take from me is at your own risk.
That said:
I used Turbotax for years. Last year was the first year I hired an accountant to do the taxes. Why? We are retired and things were getting too tricky to research (i.e. I sold some stuff on Ebay and Ebay reported it to the IRS. How to handle?).
To us, it was money well spent. Your mileage may vary.
Toasting people controlled by power and greed is America's new normal. There is no moral compass at all in this administration. Their true north is monopolizing their wealth at the expense of the rest of us. This must change.
Billionaire fuckterds think murder is cool. Something that they have the power to commit themselves, without any repercussions. They have no morals and care for nothing except their money and other billionaires. They contribute nothing to improving society, instead they do everything they can to step on our throats to make their bank accounts bigger. The blue wave needs to hit them hard.

• Intuit, the monopolistic tax software company, signed a $100 million agreement to incorporate OpenAI’s models into its financial products.
==> Gosh...I can't wait to trust my income taxes to AI!
• Fox News partners with Palantir to build AI tools.
==> The exception to prove the rule: AI could possibly make Fox's product more accurate.
